Ban Milosavljević Park

Ban Milosavljević Park is located in the very center of Banja Luka, near the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Banski dvor and the Palace of the President of Republika Srpska. This landscaped urban space is dedicated to Svetislav Tisa Milosavljević, the first Ban of the Vrbas Banovina and one of the most important figures in the modern development of Banja Luka. When the city became the administrative seat of the Vrbas Banovina in 1929, Ban Milosavljević initiated strong urban and cultural development, leading to the construction of the Banska uprava building, Banski dvor, Hotel Palas, the Sokol House and many other landmarks that still shape the appearance of the city center today.

The park features a monument to Ban Tisa Milosavljević, unveiled on September 25, 2004, as a permanent reminder of the man who left an enormous mark on the city’s development in only a few years.
