Registration of residence, residence and change of apartment address and deregistration of residence

• A foreigner's place of residence is the place where a foreigner resides on the basis of a visa, visa-free stay or temporary stay.

• The place of residence of a foreigner is the place where a foreigner with an approved permanent residence in BiH settled with the intention of living there permanently.

• A foreigner granted temporary residence must register and deregister residence, as well as a change of residential address, and a foreigner granted permanent residence and residence.

• Applications and de-registrations are submitted to the competent organizational units of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners or the police. When a report or de-registration is submitted to the police, the police must deliver a copy of the report to the competent organizational unit.

• Services for affairs with foreigners within 24 hours of receiving the application.

• A foreigner who has been granted permanent residence is obliged to register his place of residence and change of residential address in the place of residence within eight days from the day of receipt of the decision on approval of permanent residence, i.e. from the day of arrival at the place of residence, i.e. from the day of change of residential address.

• A foreigner who has been granted temporary residence is obliged to report his place of residence and change of residential address within 48 hours from the day of receipt of the residence permit, i.e. from the change of residential address.

• Legal and natural persons who provide accommodation services are obliged to report the residence of the foreigner to the competent organizational unit of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners or the police within 12 hours at the latest from the moment of providing the accommodation service to the foreigner. The persons obliged to report the residence of foreigners are, in addition to legal and natural persons registered to provide accommodation services (hotels, etc.) and health institutions and spas or other institutions that accept foreigners for treatment, nursing homes, institutions specialized in housing people with special needs, schools and student dormitories, if foreigners stay on the basis of a visa or visa-free stay, etc.

• A foreigner who does not use the accommodation services of legal and natural persons or natural persons with whom the foreigner is visiting must report the foreigner's stay in BiH to the competent organizational unit of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners or the police within 48 hours of the foreigner's entry into BiH if the foreigner will to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina for more than three days.
