The Children’s Theatre of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka was founded on December 30, 1955.
Its first professional ballet and puppet performances were held in May and October 1956. The first premiere, staged on October 14, 1956 at the children’s theatre, was a one-act fairytale puppet play called “The Forest King.”
From 1998 to the present day, it has been a frequent guest on European stages for children, as well as on the Evening Stage “Atelje 333” for adults, performing in Warsaw, Varna, Sofia, London, Magdeburg, Frankfurt, Moscow, Perugia, Cremona, Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Pécs, and more.
